Hudson Valley Plant Health Care was formed in 2008 to fill a void in Orange County, New York, of companies that can treat your trees and shrubs that had existed for quite some time. Prior to formation, there was no company that could or would treat all aspects of your landscape.

HVPHC was initially formed as a sister company of Hudson Valley Landscaping, Nursery and Garden Center in New Hampton, NY. Due to a reorganization of Hudson Valley Nursery in late 2010, HVPHC split off and became an independent company owned by Paul Burfeind.

Paul has been working in the field of tree and shrub care for the last 20 years.  He is a graduate of the University of Maine, Fort Kent, where he majored in Environmental Studies with an emphasis on Forestry.  Since his graduation, he earned his commercial pesticide applicators license through the NYS DEC and is licensed in category 3A (turf and ornamentals).  He also became a certified arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). His certification number is NY-0560A. Paul has worked as a technician and a sales representative for many of the larger plant health care companies in the lower Hudson Valley, NY, where he mastered his plant ID, along with insect, disease and cultural issues that are commonly found in residential and commercial properties in our region. Paul moved up to the Orange County area shortly after the 9/11 attacks and fell in love with the area. He soon realized the need for a company that could service all your plant health needs and HVPHC was formed.
